Blueberries are handsome upright, dense, deciduous shrubs with arching shoots and elliptical leaves that emerge bronze, mature to dark green, and change to yellow or red in autumn. Tiny, white, urn-shaped flowers are followed by edible, sweet blue-black berries in mid- to late-spring. Shrubs can be used for hedges or borders. Vaccinium corymbosum 'Southmoon' has firm, large, sky blue fruit with exceptional flavor. Highly productive, ‘Southmoon’ is a vigorous and upright midseason fruiting Southern highbush variety with peak harvest around Memorial Day. Requires 250-300 chill hours.
