Description

The stunning Pacific Mist Manzanita is a low-growing California native shrub with grey-green leaves on attractive pinkish to reddish-brown branches. Arctostaphylos 'Pacific Mist' adds beauty to your landscape and is an waterwise lawn-alternative on slopes and other areas with no foot-traffic.

Manzanitas are known for their beautiful reddish bark and clusters of small, pendulous urn-shaped flowers. Arctostaphylos 'Pacific Mist' is a fast-growing, wide-spreading shrub with narrow grey-green leaves and few white flowers. The upward-growing branch tips create a soft, irregular edge to this dependable ground cover that grows as tall as 3 ft. tall. Pruning the new spring growth will encourage a more uniform, compact, dense growth habit. Pacific Mist is disease-resistant and good a Arctostaphylos for dry shade.

Plant care

Tolerates poor soils but requires excellent drainage. Water regularly after planting until roots are established then reduce frequency. Regular pruning is not required but a light tip prune of new spring growth will encourage branching and result in denser growth.
