Description

Echeveria elegans is an easy to grow succulent that forms tight rosettes of rounded, cupped, blue-grey leaves. Long stems of nodding pink and yellow flowers appear in summer. Commonly referred to as a Mexican Snowball, this low maintenance, water-wise succulent is a beautiful addition in a living mosaic garden or stunning in mass plantings, containers, and rock or crevice gardens.

Plant care

Grows best in nutrient-poor, sandy or rocky soil with good drainage. Use a cactus potting soil for container plantings. Water deeply after planting then reduce frequency allowing the soil to dry in between waterings. Protect from intense afternoon sun in hotter inland areas. Low light levels will alter the rosette shape and result in stretched stems and elongated leaves. Remove old flower stalks at base.
