Walk-On Bark is a versatile and natural ground cover that offers several benefits for your landscape. One 2 cubic-foot bag will cover approximately 48 square feet at a ½-inch depth, 18 square feet at a 1-inch depth, 9 square feet at 2-inches and about 6 square feet at 3-inches. For garden beds aim for about 2-3 inches depth.

It is ideal for mulching around shrubs, trees, perennials and can also be used for garden walkways or slopes where good coverage and durability matter.

Remove existing weeds, loosen the soil surface and water prior to mulching. Then spread the bark mulch to about 2-3 inches deep. Keep mulch a few inches away from woody stems or trunks. Replenish as it decomposes.

Do not apply excessively thick layers that could impede water penetration or promote rot. On very poorly drained or heavy clay soils, correcting drainage is more critical than the mulch layer itself. On slopes or windy areas monitor for shifting material.
