What’s the difference between Asian Jasmine and Star Jasmine?

Asian Jasmine is lower-growing, more shade-tolerant, spreads outward, and is better suited as a dense groundcover.
Star Jasmine is an upright climber and is better suited as a bush, staked vine, or espalier trellis.
Asian Jasmine has smaller, darker leaves with noticeable leaf veins compared to Star Jasmine.
Asian Jasmine’s flowers are white with a tint of yellow, darker yellow centers, and smaller than Star Jasmine.
Asian Jasmine does not bloom as much as Star Jasmine.

Trachelospermum is a member of the Apocynaceae family (Dogbanes & Milkweeds) and will exude a sticky white sap if cut.
Asian jasmine and Star jasmine, while not true jasmines like Jasminum polyanthum (Oleaceae family), their fragrance is similar.
