Lantana is valued for its heat resilience and profuse flowers that bloom almost year-round in frost-free climates and attracts pollinators. Drought tolerant, deer resistant, and tolerant of seaside conditions, Lantana is an exceptional choice for mass plantings, borders or containers. ‘New Gold’ is a low growing spreading shrub with bright golden yellow flower clusters that bloom profusely from spring into fall. Plant in mass for a stunning groundcover, or use as an accent in a border. The trailing growth is also effective in hanging baskets or spilling over raised beds.

It typically grows about 1-2 ft tall and 3-4 ft wide (and sometimes up to 6 ft wide) with a spreading, mounding habit.
What light and soil/planting conditions does it prefer?
Full sun (at least 6 hours) produces the best flower display; it also tolerates part sun though bloom may drop off. It prefers well-drained soil and once established needs minimal water.
What watering, maintenance and care does it need?
Water regularly until established, then switch to deep but infrequent watering when the soil surface dries. Prune lightly in spring to refresh growth and maintain shape.

The plant is generally hardy but can suffer root-rot if the soil stays wet, and powdery mildew in heavy shade. All parts are toxic if ingested and may cause skin irritation, so plant accordingly.
