Cornus ‘Stellar Pink’, also known as Cornus x rutgersensis ‘Stellar Pink’ and Cornus x ‘Rutgan’, is an incredibly versatile tree. With its uniform, dense, upright growth habit, it makes for an elegant focal point, accent tree, privacy screen or as a shade tree with visual interest near porches, patios and terraces.
Stellar Pink Dogwood is a moderate growing deciduous tree, reaching 20 to 25 ft. tall by 15 to 20 ft. wide. A profusion of large, overlapping, light pink, flower-like bracts cover the tree in early spring, before the leaves emerge. The lush green foliage is shed in the fall, revealing the statuesque shape of the branches. ‘Stellar Pink’ is a sterile cultivar that does not produce fruit. Under optimal conditions, this Dogwood tree grows 1 to 2 feet per year.
