Description

Heavenly Bamboo is not a true bamboo but its lacy foliage and cane-like stems resemble bamboo. 'Gulf Stream' is a dwarf, round Nandina variety with upright stems that easily branches laterally and at the base. The dense green foliage is ever-changing as new growth emerges pinkish-bronze in the spring changing blue-green by summer then becomes an intense red winter color. Loose clusters of small white flowers bloom in late spring or early summer. Use this compact evergreen shrub along walkways, foundations, in borders, or containers.

Plant care

Requires well drained soil. Water regularly after planting until roots are established. Some drought tolerance, but better with occasional irrigation. Prune annually to promote dense growth.
