Euonymus japonicus 'Green Spire' (‘Greenspire’) is an excellent choice for a narrow, evergreen hedge. Ideal for small spaces where you want height but have no room for wide plants, 'Green Spire' has a columnar habit, forming green pillars that are up to 6 feet tall and 1-2 feet wide. This evergreen shrub has dense, glossy, dark-green leaves that are held tightly along the stems and tolerates shearing. Reliable, fast-growing, and well-behaved, Green Spire Euonymus grows well in virtually any soil type with supplemental irrigation and suits any garden style, formal or casual, as a hedge, privacy screen, or border plant. Tolerates coastal exposure.

Plant care

Requires soil with good drainage. Water regularly after planting until roots are established then reduce frequency. Fertilize in early spring. Prune as needed to maintain desired shape. Provide afternoon shade in in hot inland climates.
