    Description

    Ophiopogon japonicus 'Nana' is a dwarf form of regular mondo grass and half the size. Clumping, dark green, grass-like leaves make a beautiful ground cover or low border. The dense, linear foliage spreads slowly by tuber roots and stolons. Inconspicuous summer-blooming tiny spikes of pale lilac flowers are usually hidden among the foliage.

    Plant care

    Prefers to be planted in loamy and moist soil with good drainage. Prefers to be in partial shade in most inland areas. Water regularly during the first year to aid the plant in establishing a strong root system, frequency can be cut back once established. Maintenance is fairly simple, remove old foliage and spent blooms and the clumps can be divided every 2 - 3 years, preferably in the spring.
