Description

Gardenia jasminoides 'Veitchii' is a beautiful gardenia valued for its profusion of “everblooming” fragrant white double flowers. Veitchii is a compact evergreen shrub with glossy green dense foliage on upright branches. Grow these plants in full sun or part shade in warmer inland areas. Trim lightly after bloom to maintain a tidy appearance. Excellent in borders, hedges, as an accent plant, or in containers where the fragrance can be enjoyed.

Plant care

Plant in slightly acidic, loamy, well-draining soil in sheltered areas. The roots are sensitive and care should be taken during planting to not harm them. Water regularly during the first year to aid the plant in establishing a strong root system, frequency can be cut back once established. Mulch will help keep the roots cool. After its flowering period, give it an acid fertilizer.
