Achillea millefolium 'Island Pink' is a fast growing California native pink yarrow with green finely textured, small fern-like foliage that is no taller than 6 inches but spreads 2-3 feet wide. Flowers on 12-18 inch stems appear in various shades of pink from deep pink to almost white in spring through late summer. Island Pink yarrow is a drought tolerant perennial from Santa Cruz island that grows well in full sun on the coast but needs afternoon shade inland. This low-maintenance yarrow is useful as a groundcover or lawn substitute that can be mowed. Plant in borders, meadows, cut flower gardens, or pollinator gardens.
