Ingram's Rosemary
Rosmarinus officinalis 'Collingwood Ingram'
Rosmarinus officinalis 'Collingwood Ingram' is a mounding, semi-trailing Mediterranean evergreen shrub with dark blue flowers and fragrant, needle-like foliage in a dark greyish-green hue. In California, the bright blue flowers bloom abundantly from late winter to spring.
Drought-tolerant, low-maintenance, and fast-growing, Ingram's Rosemary is useful in the landscape for borders or containers. It is tolerant of reflective heat and coastal conditions, and attracts bees and other pollinators. This rosemary can be used in cooking but is not as flavorful as other culinary varieties.
A natural variant of Rosmarinus officinalis, Collingwood Ingram rosemary is also known as ‘Ingramii’, R. officinalis var. angustissimus 'Benenden Blue', and recently reclassified as Salvia rosmarinus ‘Collingwood Ingram’.
Plant in well-draining soil. Water regularly during the first year to aid the plant in establishing a strong root system, frequency can be reduced once established. Prune to shape.
