Dietes vegeta (D. grandiflora)(D. iridioides)(Moraea iridioides) is a vigorous evergreen with clumps of long, upright, narrow, dark green leaves. Small Iris-like white flowers with gold markings on the outer petals and three inner petals of violet appear spring-fall in flushes of nearly two-week intervals resulting in the common name of fortnight lily. Drought resistant and tolerates coastal conditions. Blooms best with regular watering. Attractive in mass plantings, in patio containers, or as a solitary accent plant.
