Description

'Anna' has remarkable fruit for mild-winter climates in Southern California and low desert areas. Heavy crops of large, light greenish-yellow apples with a red blush ripen in late June. Fruit is sweet, slightly tart, and crisp with creamy white flesh. Good for cooking or eating fresh. Keeps 2 months in refrigerator. Requires 200 chill hours. Self-fruitful or pollinated by 'Dorsett Golden' or 'Einshemer'.

Plant Care

Prefers loamy and moist soil with good drainage. Water regularly during the first year to aid the plant in establishing a strong root system, frequency should be cut back once established. Fertilize in the early spring before the flowers emerge and remove dead wood and prune to maintain the desired size. In late Spring, thin out the crop to prevent early fruit drop and overbearing.
