Description

Kangaroo Paw is an herbaceous, rhizomatous perennial with flat, dark green, strap-shaped leaves that fold at the midrib. The brilliantly colored flowers are tubular and often fuzzy. The unique flowers split lengthwise into 6 segments at the tip resembling "claws". Anigozanthos 'Amber Velvet' has large, orange flowers on 3 to 4 ft. tall stems.

Plant Care

Plant in lean, well-draining soil. Water regularly during the first year to aid the plant in establishing a strong root system, frequency can be cut back once established. Remove spent flowers by cutting at the base of the stem.
