Description

Agonis flexuosa 'Jervis Bay After Dark' is a graceful tree with stunning dark burgundy foliage and weeping, pendulous branches. New leaves emerge in a bright red-wine color, adding a striking contrast. Clusters of tiny white flowers appear at the ends of branches from spring into early summer. This small evergreen tree tolerates windy and seaside conditions and is moderately drought-tolerant along the coast once established, though it appears more lush with occasional deep irrigation. Regular pruning helps maintain a dense shape. Also known as the Peppermint Tree or Willow Myrtle, the After Dark Peppermint Willow tree makes an excellent privacy screen or container plant.
