Description

Ligustrum 'Texanum' is an evergreen shrub that is more compact and appears more lush and dense than the regular species. This slower growing Japanese Privet has thick round waxy leaves that are glossy green on top and whitish on the underside. Showy clusters of fragrant white flowers bloom in late spring or summer. Excellent for hedges and screen or for shaping into topiaries or small trees. Waxleaf Privet bush is sold as a non-staked shrub, perfect for an informal border or specimen shrub.

Plant Care

Plant in well-draining soil. Water regularly during the first year to aid the plant in establishing a strong root system, frequency can be reduced once established. Will do well with an all-purpose fertilizer, applied before the new growth arrives in the Spring. Prune to shape.
