Description

Teucrium chamaedrys is a dense, mounding Mediterranean perennial that spreads by underground rhizomes up to 2-3 feet wide. The dark green, glossy, scalloped foliage is aromatic and evergreen. Small, rose-pink flowers bloom profusely in summer for a long show of color. Attractive to bees and other beneficial insects. Wall Germander is a resilient plant that is drought resistant and thrives in heat. Shear for a formal low border or knot garden; or plant in mass for an informal ground cover or edging in waterwise gardens.

Plant care

Plant in loose soils with excellent drainage. Water deeply and regularly to establish roots during the first growing season then reduce frequency. Does not tolerate soggy soil or overwatering. Prune annually after flowering to maintain a tidy, compact appearance.
