Description

Achillea millefolium 'Terra Cotta' is a drought tolerant perennial with grey-green finely textured, fern-like foliage that is no taller than 8 inches but spreads 12-30 inches wide depending on climate. Flat-topped flower clusters on 24-36 inch stems appear in warm earth-tone shades of gold, apricot, orange, and terracotta in spring through late summer. Flower color may fade in extended hot weather. This low-maintenance yarrow is useful in borders, meadows, cut flower gardens, or pollinator gardens.

Plant care

Tolerant of most soil types but needs well-draining soil. Water regularly during the first year to aid the plant in establishing a strong root system, frequency can be reduced once established. Needs moderate to regular water (evergreen or dormancy period depending on amount of water). Remove spent flowers to promote more flowering, can be cut back to basal foliage in fall after bloom period.
