Also called the Swiss cheese plant and commonly grown as an indoor plant, Monstera deliciosa has dark green, glossy, heart-shaped leaves. The older plants develop deeply-lobed leaves that resemble swiss cheese, the namesake. This is a vining plant so moss poles or other supports can be beneficial. Grows best in bright, indirect light. Can be grown outdoors as an understory plant in mild climates where the average minimum winter temperature is above 25F degrees.
Plant in well-draining, potting soil in bright, indirect light, preferably with some humidity. It is recommended to use collected rainwater when irrigating this species. If that is not available then you could use water that has been left out overnight (unsealed) or also purified water.
