Description

Lavender 'Grosso' ('Fat Spike') is one of the most fragrant of the Lavandula x intermedia types. A compact mounding bush with fragrant narrow leaves that emerge green and mature to grey. Long wands of violet-blue flowers summer-fall. Prune once a year to maintain shape and encourage new blooms. Useful as an informal hedge, in herb gardens, or planted in masses.

Plant care

Plant in lean, slightly-alkaline, well-draining soil. Water regularly during the first year to aid the plant in establishing a strong root system, frequency can be cut back once established. Shear plant about half-way down after flowering to promote reblooming and to keep it bushy.
