Description

Podocarpus elongatus 'Icee Blue' ('Monmal') is a stunningly beautiful evergreen shrub or tree. Its pyramidal shape and dense, pendant branches with long narrow icy-blue leaves create a soft and graceful appearance. Also known as Blue Ice Yellow-Wood or Yellowwood, the new leaves of Icee Blue Podocarpus are a cool shade of chartreuse that stand out against the mature crystal blue foliage. The slow growth and dense habit make it easy to shape into a formal hedge or topiary. Looks great as a screen, hedge, specimen, or in containers. The clean upright lines and steel-blue hue make this plant great for the modern style garden.


Plant Care

Plant in well-draining soil. Water regularly during the first year to aid the plant in establishing a strong root system, frequency can be cut back once established. Fertilize in the spring and prune to shape.
