Prefers to be planted in well-draining soil in a site that is protected from wind and frost. Water regularly during the first year to aid the plant in establishing a strong root system, frequency should be cut back once established. Needs more water in the growing season than in the fall/ winter when it's dormant. Fertilize in the early spring.
