'Babcock' is a long-time favorite peach in California with it's aromatic, juicy, sweet, low-acidic, white flesh. The fruit is freestone, medium-sized with light pink-skinned with a red blush and a little fuzz. Produces a lot of fruit. Ripens early July. Requires 350-450 chill hours. Self-fruitful.
Prefers to be planted in full sun in well-draining soil. Water regularly during the first year to aid the plant in establishing a strong root system, frequency should be cut back once established. Fertilize before the flowers emerge and remove dead wood and prune to maintain the desired size. In Spring, thin out the crop to prevent early fruit drop and overbearing.
