Like the sky after a sunset, Echeveria ‘Afterglow’ is a stunning succulent with large, radiant rosettes of powdery pinkish-lavender leaves ranging in color from smoky blue to a deep coral-red. Dusty coral-colored flowers emerge in summer but all the focus is on the foliage. Mostly a solitary plant but offsets may slowly develop after flowering. Beautiful as an accent plant in the water-wise garden or patio.


Plant care

Grows best in nutrient-poor, sandy or rocky soil with good drainage. Use a cactus potting soil for container plantings. Water deeply after planting then reduce frequency allowing the soil to dry in between waterings. Protect from intense afternoon sun in hotter inland areas. Low light levels will alter the rosette shape and result in stretched stems and elongated leaves. Remove old flower stalks at base.
