Description

Carex 'Evergold' is a variegated Japanese sedge with year round interest. This grass-like sedge has ribbons of foliage with green edges surrounding a creamy-white central stripe that develop into a cascading mound for a dramatic effect in the garden. Use this attractive, easy to grow, evergreen sedge in containers, living walls, mass plantings, or borders. Grows best in well-drained moist soil in partial to full shade. Protect from hot dry winds.

Best in well-drained, moist soil. Water regularly during the first growing season until roots are established then maintain evenly moist soil. Protect from hot dry winds. Carex can be divided and replanted in spring every few years if desired. Lightly prune or gently rake to remove old faded foliage for tidy appearance. Feed with annual application of balanced fertilizer for fresh and bright appearance.
