Thymus pseudolanuginosus or Woolly Thyme is a slow growing, prostrate, mat-forming, evergreen groundcover with fragrant, greyish-green leaves densely covered with hairs. Tiny pink flowers in summer attract butterflies. Plant between stepping stones or in rock crevices where it will sprawl over rock edges. Plant 6 inches apart or closer for fast filling groundcover.

How tall and wide does Woolly Thyme grow?
It grows 1–2 inches tall and spreads 12–18 inches wide, creating a dense, carpet-like cover that stays compact and tidy.
When does Woolly Thyme bloom?
It blooms in early to mid-summer with clusters of small pink to lavender flowers that attract bees and butterflies.
What kind of sunlight and soil does it prefer?
Woolly Thyme thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. It loves dry, rocky spots and doesn’t tolerate soggy or compacted soil.
How much water does it need?
Water regularly during establishment, then infrequently. Once mature, it’s highly drought-tolerant and perfect for low-water gardens.
