Nepeta x faassenii 'Walker's Low' is a mounding, fast-growing, herbaceous perennial with fragrant, soft, greyish-green crinkly leaves and scalloped edges. An abundance of small lavender-blue flowers bloom in summer through fall and attract bees, butterflies, and birds. Drastically shear spent flowers after initial bloom to promote a rebloom and extend the garden color. Walker's Low Catmint was named after the garden where it was originally found, not its growth habit. This drought resistant plant will benefit from afternoon shade in hot summer gardens. Plant in mass for a showy informal ground cover, or as specimens in borders and rock gardens. Looks great in containers or raised beds where it cascades off the edges.
